Why "Legends of a Dark Knight" instead of "the Dark Knight"? Well, I figured the title of THE Dark Knight belongs only to Bruce, and everyone else who came after are only considered other Dark Knights. In this case, this Dark Knight is Terry. How many times did I type Dark Knight?
Anyway, the only original design here is Robin, but it's actually just a tweak from older "Robin Beyond" designs I made way back when. Only this time, I felt okay with taking out red altogether since Terry has that covered. Who's the under the Robin suit? I still don't know, but my best guess is Matt, Terry's brother. It could just be a new character altogether, but come on...everyone wants Matt to get in on the crime fighting action right?
As for Batgirl, I won't spoil who it is! You can read the latest Batman Beyond comics on comixology to find out who it is, they're like $1 for each issue. I had no idea this was happening, but you guys should definitely check it out. Props to Annie Wu for making such a bad ass Batgirl design!!
Oh also, this should go without saying by now, but this is just fan art. Could make a pretty awesome show, movie, comic, or video game though. As much as I liked Terry's high school days as Batman, I'm a little more interested in seeing him in his prime, so like late 20s, early 30s?

So, a Batman Beyond comic is still on-going, you mean, the series (after the tv-show) is still expanding...!? With a Batgirl Beyond, too? O_O
Also, I always thought Max would be a good Batgirl, but....hm...
I'm still hoping for his little brother to be Robin though - maybe too obvious of a choice, but I feel like it should happen anyway.
Thanks for liking my idea. I like yours too, the hatching from an egg is a great symbolic idea.
I like this Robin design, I've seen a lot of them and a lot of times the style doesn't mesh with the batman beyond look or the colors are far to bright. I think the days of a Bright red, yellow, and green robin may be over...
This is SO AWESOME!!! I love the Beyond versions you made of these classic Batman characters. I used to watch the cartoon back in high school. I am not a big fan of Batman or the DC comic universe because I grew up with Marvel, but I thought that was an awesome cartoon. I like how the creators did something different with the classic character. I like how you decided to do something different with these classic characters; I like artists who look at things and decide to do a new twist to see how things can be different, and impressive in their own way.
Great job! I look forward to seeing more Beyond versions of the other DC characters. Do you think you could also do some future versions of some Marvel characters?
Great job! I like the details of Terry's utility belt and Bruce’s chair – it look like it hides a few surprises he he… Also love that you included Ace he is a character in his own right but often gets left out. Kudos on the Matt and Terry duo idea super sarcastic banter between partners would be fun.
On another note, I don't entirely understand the Robin Beyond designs in that they don't cover his head (I DO understand that you're going for the classic spiky "boy wonder" look, but still). So that kind of defeats the point of the protective super-suit that Terry wears. And it's clearly supposed to be the same type of suit the way it covers his face and mouth. Batgirl Beyond's suit is just a suit (or so I infer by her making it clear in her very first scene that she lives in one of the poorer areas of Gotham. So clearly she couldn't have a fancy suit with all the bells and whistles that Terry's has. Also she has the classic mask that doesn't "cover" her mouth.
That being said, I think that, IF there was a Robin Beyond, he'd be more likely to wear a suit that looks more like Damien Wayne's with the black body-suit and the red vest thing he wears over it with a domino mask. Perhaps, if he's Mat for example, he finds out Terry's secret without Terry knowing and makes his own costume. Perhaps it could even be upgraded a bit and at least have a function sort of like Nightwing's suit in the animated series that had the little glider wings sort of like Terry's. Or he could have a cape that stiffens out like wings like in the Nolan movies. Or that weird feathery cape that New 52 Red Robin has, but shorter like spikes that get bigger and longer and run together a bit to form a glider--you know; so he can at least somewhat keep up with Terry as he flies around Gotham... or is it New Gotham...?
And this really is a small gripe, but I've always thought that Terry suit was smooth fabric on the outside (albeit very strong fabric) that has wires and machinery, and perhaps a bit of futuristic uber-thin armor, underneath.
But overall, great work! I really love your work--especially the Gotham Crusaders animated series concepts .
