12 years ago today, november 3, 1998, one of the co-creators of batman, bob kane (robert kahn) died. bob kane's original bat-man design looked a little something like this. it was actually bill finger who came up with the cowl, gloves, and gray suit. nevertheless, here's the bat-man!

i hear a lot of controversy over how bob kane took all the credit for creating batman, yada yada yada...yeah maybe. but he still took part in creating one of the greatest characters in comic books...EVER! so in memory of bOb kane, here's a rendition of his original design. :)

=on a side note=
it reminds me a lot of tim's robin OYL suit!

Awesome idea to do an updated version of this design. I never noticed that the all red Tim Drake outfit looked like this. Very cool. Kane's original lived on in some form.

Actually change the color palette and see it was very much inspired by superman's look. :)

Yeah I know this is exactly what I was thinking! Finger contributed so much and got no credit! Oh well, they were both comic book legends. Anyway, awesome work here! You never cease to amaze me with your style and detail!

I'm glad he is what he is today but he wouldn't be anything if it weren't for good ole Bob. So...props.

Nice job.
As far as Kane taking full credit, It was his creation. His right. If Finger was butt hurt he should have perhaps said something to Kane. I have a hard time having sympathy for people who don't speak up. I even have a LESS sympathy for creators (Seigel & Shushter) who sell their property (Superman) for a measly $160, there by LOSING ANY control over their creation and the A-hole families cry foul with BS law-suits which leads to changes in everything we know and love about Superman! Sorry but they are entitled to NOTHING!!!!
